Panorama Trail #635

Trail Highlights: On a clear day, views from the top of Twin Knolls ex- tend to the San Francisco Peaks, near Flagstaff. If you don’t want to go the entire trail distance, these views are on the shortcut portion of the trail. To access the short loop, from the trailhead go 0.5 miles to where the trail forks and take a right. Continue for 0.2 miles to the shortcut sign.

The short loop is more easily navigated by continuing on the main loop to the right and using the shortcut trail on your return. The trail winds through a nice variety of trees and shrubs, such as manzanita, Gamble oaks, alligator junipers, and ponderosa pine. Equestrian riders will find water tanks and most of the trail rock-free. Two connector trails, the Sawmill and the Flume Connectors, head west to Timber Mesa Trail.
